Maintenance mode in WordPress is a feature that temporarily disables the website, displaying a message to visitors while updates, changes, or fixes are being applied. Please note this also applies to the admin section of your website.
- Login to your hosting control panel.
- Using the left menu, click Websites, then click on the website you have WordPress installed on.
- Under the Applications installed heading, click manage, here you will find all your WordPress website options and settings.
- Using the inset left menu, click General. Here you can toggle your website to Maintenance mode.
To place you’re WordPress website in maintenance mode, a .maintenance file is created within the root directory, so you can manually create and delete this too if required.
