TXT Records

A TXT record (Text Record) is a type of DNS record used to store text information associated with a domain. These records are often used for domain verification (Prove ownership of your domain when setting up services like Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.), email authentication (e.g., SPF, DKIM, DMARC), or other metadata used by third-party services.

Adding a new TXT record

  1. Login to your cp.purely.website account.
  2. Click websitesclick the domain you wish to work on.
  3. Click Domains, again click on the domain you want to manage the TXT record on, click DNS Records.
  4. Select TXT from the dropdown menu.
  5. Enter the Name:
    • Use @ for the root domain (e.g., yourdomain.co.uk).
    • Enter a subdomain (e.g., mail or www) if applicable.
  6. Enter the required TXT Value, such as an SPF rule or verification string.
  7. Set the TTL to your preference, 1 day is generally fine.
  8. Click Create to save the record.
