In this guide we’re going to walk through the process of restoring your web hosting account backups. This can be done either with full restores or individual file, database or mailbox restores.
- Login to your cp.purely.website account.
- Using the left menu, click Websites, then click on the website you would like to restore a backup on.
- Using the top menu, click Backups.
- Here you can see the backups of your websites files, database and mailboxes from the last 7 days at ~8am.
To perform a full restore:
- To perform a restore, find the date you would like to files/email/DB from, click Restore and choose either Email or Website from the drop down.
- If you would like to restore the database or ALL files, email and databases, click Custom.
- Select what you would like to restore and click Restore Now.
- Restoring from an earlier date will overwrite any existing data and any changes since the backup will be lost. Click Restore to confirm.
- The restore will now process and you will be alerted once complete via a pop up in the bottom left.
To perform an individual file, mailbox or database restore:
- Find the date you would like to files/email/DB from, click Restore and then click Custom.
- Find the file, database or mailbox you would like to restore. If your choosing files, multiple files or folders can be selected. Click Restore now.
- You will be shown the list of items you wish to restore to confirm, to proceed click Restore.
- The restore process will run, once complete you should see a green successful message bottom left.
Note: While the backup and restore process is a great feature, its always recommended to take your own backups too.
