Catch-All Email Accounts

A catch all email address is a mailbox setting that accepts email sent to any address on your domain, even if the specific mailbox does not exist.

For example, if catch all is enabled, messages sent to anything@yourdomain.co.uk would still be delivered to a single mailbox.

  1. Login to the cp.purely.website control panel.
  2. Click on the website you wish to setup the catch all setting on.
  3. Using the top menu, click Emails.
  4. Click on the mailbox you wish to edit.
  5. Click on Catch-all to toggle it on or off.

Why Catch All Is Not Recommended

Enabling a catch all address is generally not advised for the following reasons:

  • It significantly increases spam and junk email.

  • It makes it harder to identify genuine messages.

  • It can negatively impact your domain reputation.

  • It may result in large volumes of unwanted mail being accepted automatically.

Service Limitations and Removal

Catch all email addresses are not supported as a guaranteed feature.

Please be aware:

  • Catch all may be disabled or removed without warning.

  • No responsibility is accepted for missed or undelivered emails as a result.

  • Use of catch all is entirely at your own risk.

For reliable email delivery, we strongly recommend creating individual mailboxes or aliases for each required address instead.

Recommended Alternative

The preferred approach is to:

  • Create specific mailboxes for known addresses.

  • Use email aliases where needed.

  • Regularly review unused addresses.

This ensures better security, clearer message management, and improved deliverability.
